Multicultural Children’s Book Day (MCCBD)1//27/2017

The Multicultural children’s Book day (MCCBD) is almost here. This is a internet event that is dedicated to diverse children’s book. The day has a website visit it and look at the book reviews, books and authors who are a part of this day. My book review was for the book “Little Lek Longtail Learns to Sleep,” by Bette Killion, and Illustrated by Beatriz Vidal. I’ll be publishing it again on the 27th on my Facebook page. Please visit and leave comments.

Another, January 27, 2017 event is the “I’ll Make Me A World 2017” celebration of the Iowa African American Experience. It is an extremely successful event. The projection for attendance is 10,000. I’ve attended in the past and was happy I did. Food, music, theatre, vendors, exhibits, a special guest, etc. and historically relevant content.

Today is January 21, 2017, the second day of the new term for President Trump. The day, according to the news, has been filled with protests of his presidency. The protests today have taken the form of peaceful demonstrations by millions of people, marching throughout the US and the world. The Washington, D.C. march numbers surpassed the demonstration against the Vietnam War in the late sixties. There were demonstrations yesterday, the day of the inauguration, but all was not peaceful. A lot of anger in the world about the US choice.

I’ll miss the Obama administration.

Bye!
